Simpson Speedway RX The shell is manufactured from a composite of lightweight carbon, kevlar and fibreglass. The lining is form fitting fire resistant nomex. Available in gloss black or white and is supplied with a clear visor. Simpson helmets are made as motorsport helmets so do not conform to UK motorcycle helmet regulations, they conform to the SNELL SA2005 regulations for car racing etc and they are not designed as a motorcycle helmet. Simpson certifies helmets to both the Snell and SFI standards. The most current Snell rating is 2005. SA stands for Special Application. SA rated helmets are used in competitive automobile racing and require a fire retardant rating. Auto racing helmets are rated as either M, SA or K. M stands for Motorcycle or motorized vehicles.
