LG HT462DZ
Pros: Superb sound, excellent bass, good looking, simple to set-up Cons: No Mic inputs as it says on the LG spec (and repeated by many retailers), attracts dust to gloss finish, no clock on display when not in use Review: I bought this to go with LG 42LG7000 TV as they would connect via Simplink menu system, which works very well (no thanks to the poor manual instructions) when you find the correct method of selection which turns off the TV speakers automatically as the HT system turns on. You do need an additional optical audio lead and an HDMI 1.3 lead for the system to work though.Limited in sound settings to Normal, XTS Pro (music) and Virtual (projects to 5.1 sound). No additional bass settings but I've found it to be perfect as it is for a Joe Bloggs like me to watch TV.DVD player appears to have a lot of functions but I'm not a movie buff so for me you put one in and it plays and sounds excellent.FM tuner is excellent if somewhat simple (does what it says on the tin).Menu system appears a little old when compared to TV and options are very limited. Blue LED on power switch appears unnecessary and annoyingly bright when turned off. Remote control has far too many buttons poorly laid out for a simple device. If you like to mess around with a load of settings this isn't for you but if you want excellent sound straight out of the box it is perfect. |
